Phyllis Nolutshungu Fundraising High Tea
The Anglican Women's Fellowship held their fundraising tea in honour of Phyllis Nolutshungu on 26 April 2014 on the theme of Revive, Relate, Rejoice.
Phyllis Thenjiwe Nolutshungu is a dedicated woman of God, who has served the diocese of Mthatha and the Cathedral Church for many years as Lay Minister, Member of the Mother's Union and President of the AWF from 1988 to 2002. Even though at age 84 her health and general condition are not what they were, she still serves God in all these structures. Syabulela Mama ngokuba ngumzekelo omhle kuthi sonke. Sawulala siyipitshozela inkonzo!
Proceedings started at 5.30 p.m. with an opening prayer from the Diocesan Chaplain, The Revd Xoliswa Sipunzi, and then a welcome from the Diocesan President, Ms Noxolo Pohlwana.
The young people's contribution took the form of songs from a group from St. Andrew's, and then the keynote address was given by Mrs. Vuyokazi Higa. She delivered an impassioned talk on the event's theme, basing her thoughts around the story of Naomi, Ruth and Boaz.
