A Special Day for St Barnabas Parish, Lindile

On 29th September 2013 Bishop Sitembele officiated at a very special service in St Barnabas Church Lindile.  He started by blessing the new multi-purpose extension at the west end of the church, entering through the new double doors after knocking three times as is the tradition. He then moved to each of the rooms - the prayer room, the rector's room, the admin office and the open area for the use of the lay ministers -  blessing each in turn. The extension also includes an indoor flush toilet.
During the Eucharistic service that followed he awarded their certificates to the five lay ministers. He also conducted the baptism and confirmation of twenty-four parishioners ranging from twelve to middle age.
The day ended with a shared lunch cooked by the women of the parish, and traditional dancing by a group of young girls.
