Farewell Rev. "Mvakie" Mfenguza
15-09-2013
The parish of St Thomas, Rainy, working together with its archdeaconry, the archdeaconry of Misty Mount, bid Rev. Mfunguza farewell. The event took place in the St. Thomas church hall after a Eucharist service.
Wow! The people of God really displayed their love for "Mvakie". They showered her with presents, cash and best wishes. Pleasure was written all over their faces.
The occasion was well catered for. Everything was plentiful: food, meat and soft drinks. Rectors of all the parishes of the Archdeaconry were in attendance together with their congregants to bid their colleague farewell. It was even more pleasing to see representatives of neighbouring church denominations who also displayed their pleasure at having Rev. Mfenguza around during her tenure of office.
The weather was superb. Amongst the visitors there were also members of the Diocesan Choir, of which "Mvakie" is a member, and also members of the Cathedral Choir.
They rendered beautiful music together with the Misty Mount Archdeaconry Choir (which had come top the previous evening in the Standard section of the annual diocesan music competition).
What a ceremony!
