The Bishop's Easter Message          25th March 2013

My dear People of God

Christ is risen and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep, hallelujah. I hope you have had a benefiting Lent and now that we are celebrating Easter all of us are renewed for mission and ministry.

Maundy Thursday marks the institution of the holy Eucharist which is sealed in the blood of Christ who became the victim lamb for our salvation. To me Easter is not a once off event. Every Eucharist is the Easter of our Lord, hence we proclaim the mystery of our faith as we proclaim:
" Christ has died
   Christ is risen
   Christ will come again"

I call upon all of us to live Easter in our lives. We need to reflect in who we are that we have died to self and rise in Christ in the power of the Spirit to work and live for Him. Easter offers a challenge to put aside all selfishness just like Jesus who put aside His divinity and took our nature so that we may be restored to our former glory as children of God. The heart of Jesus is made good when we do only what pleases Him. Have a blessed Easter and may God bless you.

Kum iPasika ayisosiganeko selaa xesha qha. Ngalo lonke ixesha sisenza umthendeleko sibingelela iPasika yeNkosi; yiyo loo nto sivakalisa mihla yonke imfihlakalo yokholo lwethu xa sisithi :
" UKrestu ufile
   UKrestu uvukile
   UKrestu uyakubuya eze"

Ndibhekisa kuthi sonke ndisithi masiphile iPasika ngobomi bethu. Kuyimfuneko ukuba ngako konke esikuko ukuba bufe ubuthina size sivuke sikuKrestu ngamandla kaMoya oyiNgcwele khon'ukuze simsebenzele simphilele. IPasika icela umngeni wokokuba kungabikho bani ucinga ngaye yedwa, kuyafuneka ukuba sicinge nangabanye abantu njengoYesu owabubeka bucala, ngathi ubulibele, ubuthixo bakhe, wathabatha ubuntu bethu esibuyisela kolwaa zuko lwethu lokuqala njengabantwana bakaThixo.
Intliziyo kaYesu iyachulumanca xa sisenza intando yakhe kuphela. Nibe nePasika esikelelekileyo ngamana noThixo wanisikelela.
