HISTORY
ST. Thomas Parish was formed on I3 July 2003 at Moyeni location in the district of Libode. It was officially opened in l January 2004 by the parish rector Rev. J .T. Ngombane. The Church Wardens were Mr. M.N Fodo, Mr .Z Mzinyathi and Mr. S. Mpongwana. In 2006-2007 the parish rector was Rev. L Siyaka and the church wardens were Mr. M.N Fodo, Mr. Z. Mzinyathi and Mrs. A.N Songca In 2008-2011 the parish rector was Rev. L S. Fodo and the church wardens were Mrs. N. Ndamase, Mrs. A.N. Songca and Mrs. N. Madabane. Rev. Canon P. Dyayiya was rector from January 2012, but now the rector is Rev. Ntongana and the wardens in charge are Mrs. S. Fodo, Mrs. A.N Songca and N. Nongauza.
St. Thomas Parish was formed from four out stations:
St. Albany - Situated at Moyeni location and the preacher in charge is Mr. G.M
Baliwe
St. Canon Peter Masiza - Situated at Tyara location and the preacher is Mrs.
A.N Songca.
St. Agnes - Situated at Mphangana location and the preachers in charge are Mrs. N. Ndamase and Mr. V.Zide.
St. Timothy - Situated at Mamfengweni and the preacher is Mr. S. Mpongwana.
The parish developed the fifth outstation i.e. St. Phillips which is situated at Thabo Mbeki Township ands it's preacher in charge is Mr.Mzinyathi.
REASONS FOR THE FORMATION OF ST, THOMAS PARISH
Develop the diocese of Mthatha.
