The old church at Mabheleni was deconsecrated, and the new church consecrated by Bishop Sitembele on Friday 6th December 2013. The Bishop formally installed Rev. Nomsa Madyibi as parish priest for the new church, and licensed a number of lay ministers. A large number of candidates of a wide range of ages were also confirmed.
During the service a minute's silence was held for the late Nelson Mandela, followed by special prayers.
